Since we have only a few days left in Fairbanks we noticed that the temperature is dropping. Check out the picture in the temperature sign @ UAF!!!

As I am (alas) not now connected with academia, I view your blog (and great photos) mostly to partake in your adventure. What an experience for you to go from Fiji to Alaska, and in mid-winter with darkness and snow! I am closely acquainted with someone spending a first tropical Christmas in Fiji, so your "climate shock" is very interesting to me.
